GRACEFUL SCREAM

How far would you dig to reclaim and heal your raw childhood scars?
Graceful Scream is a raw and transformative performance, exploring the scars of childhood trauma and the human journey toward healing.
Jay Chia Henareh leads the audience through an emotional passage of survival, truth, and grace. Confronting cycles of inherited pain and offering a glimpse of liberation.
Concept, Research, Performance by:
Jay Chia Henareh

Structured into three phases:
Stressful, Truthful, and Graceful
The work moves from a state of denial and survival. through painful self-confrontation, towards a release into freedom
and self-reclamation.

Through the use of broken mirrors, tightly bound bandages, soundscapes that penetrate the body, and live physical transformation. Jay invites the audience not only to witness, but to feel the embodied struggle and the delicate rebirth that follows.

Graceful Scream is a ritual of shedding old skin, a refusal to pass trauma on to future generations and a tribute to the strength it takes to break destructive cycles.
The performance first premiered as a live work and continues to evolve toward future exhibitions and art museums. where Graceful Scream transforms each new space.
