Nothing?
Or is it nothingness?
Is it an expression of presence?
Or can presence become aware of its own nothingness, by feeling the nothingness, within nothingness and
surrendering to it?
Is it possible to stop?
Amidst all this chaos,
To hear the silence
Amidst all this noise
And to be alone, truly alone.
Amidst all this crowd,
If you surrender your presence to nothingness,
Can your presence be found within my nothingness, or mine in yours?
Without expecting,
Without assuming,
Without understanding
And without explaining.
Simply surrendering your nothingness to the nothingness itself.
Perhaps a moment of truth will emerge
About which neither you nor I can speak
But we will feel it to the core.
A loud presence of nothingness.

ReConnect is a 12-hour durational performance by Jay Chia Henareh. that invites participants to step fully into nothingness and discover presence within emptiness.
As the concluding chapter of his five work quintet following: Silence Is Not a Dream, Graceful Scream, Unknown and Divide Zero.
ReConnect unfolds in three 45-minute sessions. Across each session, Jay inhabits the space in silent stillness, as visitors drift in and out. Their arrivals and departures like gentle waves that awaken a collective calm. Dissolving every expectation into the pure pulse of nothingness.

Rooted in the belief that by embracing nothingness at every moment, letting go and being fully present. allowing experience to unfold without framing or expectation. We uncover the true ground of being and the freedom that comes with releasing all burdens. ReConnect blurs the boundary between self and whole.
Visitors enter an all white chamber filled with drifting smoke and a steady ambient hum. Illuminated by a single light that slowly dims and brightens each hour, grounding them in the space.
Guided by Jay’s unflinching presence, they sit beside him and confront the weight and the freedom of pure nothingness. Here, simply releasing all framing and expectations becomes an act of radical clarity. Emptiness reveals itself not as absence, but as the very ground of being.

ReConnect marks Jay’s first durational work and serves as the culminating piece of his quintet of works. Created as his graduation project from the Amsterdam School of Drama & Contemporary Music Theatre.
